Syrr animation - sketch by Widdershins-Works Syrr animation - sketch by Widdershins-Works
Just because I can, and I wanted.

My first animation try/test the most basic running animation with Syrr´s ancient demon form.

Just a sketch still, many things should be corrected and refined before even think of inking.
12 phrase all together.
I had some help with the phrases found over the net.

Soon you're going to be animating him in one of his dances... start with pole dancing maybe, I think that would be a great way to practice, this is very smooth and I'm looking forward to seeing more!!

Well it looks fantastic and very unique and one day I hope you're able to show us one of these amazing dances because I truly believe you're capable of doing it. Again, great job... I can barely draw right now since I dislocated my shoulder, I look at my favorite artists here on DA and it helps ease the frustration. Take care hun

Hmm ideas what I should look more into?
This is still just a sketch and want to work it out better with smoother lines so any advice which part to look more into could help me a lot )

Anyway thank you very much, happy that you like it as my first animation try )

there is some jittering in the head which i'm guessing could turn out better once more in-betweens are added, also _though it's going to be a pain to do_ you should make the eyes on the fore paw follow the action and not remain too stationary (some of them already move but others stay in one place loosing the flow, i really love how you added the droopy/ melting effects into the animation and for the sake of not wasting time keep them the way they are, but the fur at the edge of the tail needs to either stay where it is while the tail and droops move or you should use the drag effect so that it -again- looks smoother............otherwise it's perfect and awesome! 0u0

(sorry for the wall of text)

and your most welcome! tee hee i'm glad i like it too! i can;t say enough how cool it is!

It does?
Really?
A bit it glitches out though and it is right, also the tail not seems to really follow the movement well that must rework still a bit :blushes:
But happy you like it <3

I think it still is great and I actually not see it as a heavy flaw if an animation is not completely 100% smooth, it gives a bit of artistical feeling if you see some little flaws, I personally like it better than a completely smooth animation ;)

Ohhh - so nice. You really have the motions of the legs, especially the hind legs, down perfect!!

And this is your first time with animation? Even more impressive!

Thank you very much!

It is so difficult to really feel into it, I have many parts here which still looks a bit.. odd and strange not moving the way out as I imagined it should but hope can fix it up when I get back to it to correct the mistakes.

And yes it is, never did really animation except maybe some blinking eyes or something, this is the first time to fully animate something and must say it is pretty hard to do )

The back paws flow nicely. Not a bad animation for a first draft. Front paws are a little glitchy. I really like the blobs coming off of Syrr's fur, like ink droplets.

Hmm glithcy in what way?
Since I planning to work this one out nicely and more refined so if you can point out ideas where to look more into the animation flow I would be grateful )

The ink droplets part of his demonic material, I want to make that part more smooth in the final animation surely, some parts still a bit off, some looks pretty fine, so I try to figure out to make all look natural and the way I imagined it )

Well it just seems like the front paw that is furthest away seems to be missing a frame. the paw kicks up in one frame then drops back into the gait (if that is the right term)

I don't know if this is an appropriate reference but I normally use Muybridge's "Animals in locomotion" still frames. Here is a dog one ([link]) I used for study and a cat one as well ([link]). The spine seems a little stiff here is a video of a cat in a trot just to see a small movement ([link])

I was never really all that good with animation to begin with so these are just what I think in an amateur way. i think this is really food being a sketch.
